Home Personal Protection


What would you do? Do you have a plan? How often do you get that uneasy feeling when you get home late or wake up in the middle of the night? Do you look around your home in order to ensure you and your family’s safety? Come learn how to protect yourself in your own home. The NRA Personal Protection In-Home Course will provide you the tools necessary to develop a plan.


The NRA Personal Protection In-Home Course will provide:

  • Your homes structural security considerations
  • Review of Florida State Statutes regarding no-retreat laws
  • Expand your home defense options
  • Use of firearms in your home
  • Range exercises for close quarter shooting
  • Certificate of Completion

**NRA Personal Protection In Home Course will take approximately 8 hours to complete**


Course Requirements:

  • Protective eyewear and hearing protection (CPTS can provide)
  • 200 rounds of ammunition
  • Serviceable firearm which will be inspected for safety and functionality by CPTS firearms instructors. Firearms and holsters found to be un-serviceable will not be allowed on the firing line.
  • Holster can be a paddle, belt, or an IWB holster if it permits you to safely draw and re-holster your weapon without removing the holster
  • Magazine pouch
  • Using your personal firearm is recommended, but not required
  • Handgun should have three or more magazines (speed loaders for revolvers)
  • Closed toe shoes required
  • Long pant or knee pads and belt for your pants (to properly wear your holster)
  • Hat and sunscreen recommended
